STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Newcomb Rocks is an exposed pinnacle off Winter Harbour, British Columbia, where rocky structure rises through a depth range of 20 to 305 feet on the outer coast. The pinnacle holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from June through August, alongside Pacific Halibut that come on strongest from May through August. Chinook Salmon move through the area from April into August, while the deeper rock supports Rougheye, Darkblotched, and Shortraker Rockfish along with Sablefish and Pacific Cod. Anglers work the rock for Lingcod by jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with soft plastics, and target Halibut with drift jigging over the broken bottom using leadhead jigs and swimbaits. Chinook trolling with anchovy, herring, or hoochies covers the water above the structure when salmon are staged over the pinnacle.
