Noot Rock is an exposed offshore pinnacle off Winter Harbour, British Columbia, where rocky structure rises through a depth range of 20 to 305 feet. The pinnacle holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from June through August, alongside Pacific Halibut that concentrate from May through August over the surrounding bottom. Chinook Salmon move through from April to August and Coho Salmon from May to September, while Copper, Canary, and Quillback Rockfish hold tight to the rock year-round. Anglers work the structure for Lingcod with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and soft plastics, or swimbaits, and drop drift-jigged leadheads and swimbaits over deeper ground for Halibut. Trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, and spoons covers the salmon as they pass the exposed outer edge.
