Pinnacle Island sits off Winter Harbour on the outer exposed coast of British Columbia, where a rock drop-off falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here from April through August and Coho Salmon follow from May into September, with both targeted primarily by trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, or trolling spoons along the structure. The rocky slope supports Lingcod through their peaks in February to April and June to August, where jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs with soft plastics, or swimbaits works the bottom edges. Pacific Halibut range across the deeper flats from May to August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs. Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish also inhabit the rock and deeper water around the drop-off.
