Salmon Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Fort Bragg, California, where the bottom falls away through depths of 20 to 120 feet. Chinook Salmon run strongest from April through September, with Coho Salmon sharing the water column above the same structure. The rocky slope holds Lingcod, which peak in January and February and again in August and September, alongside Rockfish that concentrate from April through September and Cabezon that show best in spring and early fall. Pacific Halibut move through the sand margins from March into August. Anglers troll anchovies, herring, spoons, or hoochies for Chinook and mooch whole anchovies or herring closer in, while bottom fishing with squid strips, shrimp flies, or metal jigs works the rock for Rockfish and Cabezon, and jigging with metal jigs or swimbaits targets Lingcod along the drop-off.
