STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

West Pescadero Point Hump is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Half Moon Bay, rising through water that runs 120 to 240 feet deep. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from March through August, alongside a strong rockfish mix that includes Bocaccio, Canary, Yellowtail, and Widow Rockfish. Lingcod work the pinnacle hard in February and March and again from August through October, while California Halibut move in from April through August. Anglers troll anchovies, spoons, flashers, and hoochies for Chinook or switch to mooching whole anchovies and sardines when the fish sit deeper. Lingcod respond to metal and leadhead jigs worked over the rock, and halibut come to drifted live anchovies, smelt, and squid along the pinnacle's edges.
