About Beach Access #4 Snorkel Reef 1

Beach Access #4 Snorkel Reef 1 is an artificial reef off the Destin shoreline in the Panhandle region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Spanish Mackerel run here from March through October, and anglers target them by trolling small spoons and diving plugs or by casting metal jigs and gotcha plugs to breaking fish. The reef structure holds Gray Snapper from May through August, and bottom fishing with live shrimp or live pinfish works them tight to the reef. Sheepshead stack on the reef from January through March and respond to fiddler crabs and sand fleas fished on the bottom. Spotted Seatrout peak in March–April and October–November, Red Drum move through from September through November, and Common Snook round out the reef's species mix.
