About SR27-13 Reef
SR27-13 Reef is an artificial reef in the Florida Gulf State Waters off Pensacola, part of the Panhandle Region's network of placed structure. Spanish Mackerel and King Mackerel move over the reef from April through October, when trolling small spoons and straw rigs for Spanish and slow trolling live cigar minnows or live menhaden for kings both cover the water above the structure. Cobia peak from March through June and respond to sight casting with bucktail jigs or live eels. Gray Snapper hold tight to the reef from May through August, and bottom fishing with live shrimp or live pinfish draws them out of the structure. Sheepshead fill the cooler months from January through March on fiddler crabs and sand fleas, while Gag Grouper take over from October through December on live pinfish and live cigar minnows fished on the bottom.
