About Beasley Park Snorkel Reef
Beasley Park Snorkel Reef is a nearshore artificial reef off the Gulf beachfront near Destin, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Sheepshead hold tight to the reef structure from January through March, and bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or live shrimp puts baits directly among the modules where they feed. Gray Snapper take over from May through August, responding to bottom fishing with live pinfish or cut squid, with chumming using cut sardines or glass minnows to draw them up off the structure. Spanish Mackerel cruise the surrounding water from March through October, and casting metal jigs or gotcha plugs to breaking fish works well over the reef. In the fall, Red Drum peak from September through November and Spotted Seatrout return in October and November, while Common Snook round out the reef's species list.
