About Fish Haven 1 Center Patch Reef
Fish Haven 1 Center Patch Reef is an artificial reef in the Gulf waters off Destin, Florida, within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Pelagic action runs through the warm months, with Spanish Mackerel peaking from March through October and King Mackerel from April through October. Cobia pass through from March to June and again in September and October. Over the reef structure itself, Sheepshead peak from January through March, Gray Snapper from May through August, and Gag Grouper from October through December. Bottom fishing with live pinfish, live shrimp, or fiddler crabs targets the reef dwellers, while slow trolling live cigar minnows or live menhaden along the edges of the structure draws King Mackerel up from the surrounding water.
