About Fish Haven 15 Reef
Fish Haven 15 Reef is an artificial reef in the Florida Gulf state waters off Destin, part of the Panhandle region's network of man-made bottom structure. The reef holds Gray Snapper from May through August, Sheepshead from January through March, and Gag Grouper from October through December, while Cobia peak in March through June and again in September and October. Bottom fishing over the structure produces snapper on live pinfish, live shrimp, and cut cigar minnows, and chumming with cut sardines or glass minnows draws them up off the reef. Sheepshead respond to fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and barnacle-encrusted mussels, and grouper take live pinfish, live grunts, and live cigar minnows fished tight to the bottom. Spanish Mackerel run from March through October and King Mackerel from April through October, and anglers target them by trolling small spoons and diving plugs for Spanish and slow trolling live cigar minnows and live blue runners for kings.
