About Lasater Point
Lasater Point is an outer, exposed drop-off off Destin, Florida, in the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters, where mixed bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 655 feet. Sheepshead peak here from January through March, and anglers work the bottom with bottom fishing rigs baited with fiddler crabs, live shrimp, sand fleas, or barnacle-encrusted mussels. Spanish Mackerel run from March through October, and trolling small spoons, clark spoons, planers, or diving plugs covers water along the edge of the drop. Red Drum peak from September through November, while Spotted Seatrout show in two windows, March to April and October to November. Gray Snapper and Common Snook round out the species list over the mixed bottom of this deep, open-water structure.
