About M/V Deborah Reef
M/V Deborah Reef is an artificial reef in federal Gulf waters off Destin, Florida, where a sunken vessel forms hard structure on an otherwise open bottom. Red Snapper peak here from April through July, and Greater Amberjack hold tight to the wreck during their April–May peak. Gray Snapper follow from May through August, while King Mackerel patrol the water column above the reef from April into October. Gag Grouper peak from October through December, and Red Grouper also hold on the structure. Bottom fishing with live pinfish or cigar minnows dropped close to the wreck draws snapper and grouper, while slow trolling live cigar minnows or blue runners around the reef's edges targets passing King Mackerel.
