About Paradise Point
Paradise Point is an exposed outer drop-off off Destin, Florida, in the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters, where mixed bottom falls away from 260 to 660 feet. Sheepshead lead the cool-season action from January through March, and Spotted Seatrout peak in March–April and again in October–November. Red Drum move through from September to November, while Spanish Mackerel hold a long run from March through October, with Gray Snapper and Common Snook also on the target list. Bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, live shrimp, sand fleas, or barnacle-encrusted mussels works the mixed structure along the ledge for Sheepshead and Red Drum. Above the drop, trolling small spoons, clark spoons, and diving plugs behind planers covers water for Spanish Mackerel, and casting metal jigs or gotcha plugs connects when the fish break the surface.
