About RMS ATLANTIS Reef
RMS ATLANTIS Reef is an artificial reef in Florida's Panhandle state waters off Destin, offering structure that draws both bottom-dwelling and pelagic species. Sheepshead stack on the reef from January through March, and bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or live shrimp works the structure directly. Gag Grouper peak from October through December and respond to bottom fishing with live pinfish or live cigar minnows dropped tight to the reef. Gray Snapper hold here from May through August, while Cobia move through from March to June and again in September and October, when sight casting bucktail jigs or live eels around the reef draws strikes. King Mackerel from April through October and Spanish Mackerel from March through October patrol the water above the structure, where slow trolling live cigar minnows and trolling small spoons cover the reef's edges.
