About Boca Raton Inlet
Boca Raton Inlet is an exposed sand-bottom corridor on Florida's southeast Atlantic coast near Fort Lauderdale, with depths running from 10 to 35 feet. Common Snook peak from May through July, when live bait drifting with live shrimp, live pilchards, or live mullet works the channel. Gray Snapper peak in June and July, and Yellowtail Snapper run from April through July and respond to chumming and drift fishing with glass minnows, cut ballyhoo, or squid strips. Mutton Snapper peak from March through June over the sand, where bottom fishing with live ballyhoo or cut bait targets them along the corridor. King Mackerel take over from January through March, when slow trolling live goggle eyes or live blue runners along the outer edge draws strikes, and Crevalle Jack also patrol the inlet.
