About Whiskey Creek

Whiskey Creek is an exposed sand-bottom corridor off Fort Lauderdale, Florida, running from the shallows out to about 45 feet within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. Common Snook peak here from May through July, Gray Snapper in June and July, Mutton Snapper from March through June, and Yellowtail Snapper from April through July. King Mackerel take over in the first months of the year, peaking January through March, while Crevalle Jack round out the mix. Live bait drifting with live pilchards or live mullet suits snook moving through the corridor, and bottom fishing with live shrimp or cut bait targets Gray and Mutton Snapper over the open sand. In winter, slow trolling live goggle eyes or live blue runners along the deeper edge of the range puts baits in front of passing King Mackerel.
