About Whiskey Creek Hump
Whiskey Creek Hump is a rock pinnacle off Fort Lauderdale, Florida, rising from exposed outer waters in 120 to 180 feet of depth. Mutton Snapper peak from March through June, Yellowtail Snapper from April through July, and Gray Snapper in June and July, while King Mackerel hold over the structure from January through March. Common Snook peak from May through July, and Crevalle Jack round out the species list. Bottom fishing with live ballyhoo, live pilchards, or cut bait targets muttons tight to the rock, and chumming and drift fishing with glass minnows or cut ballyhoo pulls yellowtail up off the hump. For King Mackerel, anglers slow troll live goggle eyes, live threadfin herring, or live blue runners across the pinnacle's exposed edges.
