About White Rock Shoal
White Rock Shoal is an exposed sand flat on the outer edge of the Charlotte Harbor region off Fort Myers, Florida, with depths running from 15 to 35 feet. Red Drum peak here from August through October, Spotted Seatrout from March through April, Common Snook from April through June, and Sheepshead from November through March. Live bait fishing with live pilchards, live pinfish, or live shrimp works the open sand for both Red Drum and Common Snook. Spotted Seatrout respond to drifting with soft plastic jerkbaits, paddle tail grubs, or a popping cork with shrimp. In the cooler months, bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or live shrimp targets Sheepshead along the deeper sections of the shoal.
