About Hogue Channel

Hogue Channel is a shallow tidal corridor near Naples, Florida, running 0 to 10 feet deep over a mixed bottom with moderate exposure in the Charlotte Harbor Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Winter brings sheepshead from January through March and spotted seatrout from February through April, followed by common snook from April through July and gray snapper from May through July. Red drum peak in September and October, while Spanish mackerel move through in two windows, March to April and September to November. Bottom fishing with live shrimp, fiddler crabs, or sand fleas works the mixed bottom for sheepshead and gray snapper. Live bait fishing with live pilchards or pinfish targets snook and red drum as they push through the channel.
