About Big Carlos Pass
Big Carlos Pass is a protected tidal corridor near Naples, Florida, where a sand bottom runs 10 to 20 feet deep. Sheepshead lead the winter calendar from January through March, overlapping with spotted seatrout, which peak from February through April. Common snook take over from April through July alongside gray snapper in May through July, and red drum peak in September and October. Spanish mackerel move through the pass in two windows, March through April and September through November, and anglers target them by casting small spoons and jigs. Along the sandy channel, bottom fishing with live shrimp or fiddler crabs works for sheepshead and gray snapper, while live pilchards and pinfish draw snook and red drum.
