About 1 Reef

1 Reef is an artificial reef off the Miami coast in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters, where placed structure holds a mix of reef and pelagic species. Gray Snapper and Yellowtail Snapper peak from May through July, Mutton Snapper peaks from April through June, and Common Snook peaks from May through July, while Crevalle Jack also patrol the structure. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, live shrimp, cut bait, or squid works the reef for Gray Snapper and Mutton Snapper. Yellowtail Snapper respond to chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows, with cut ballyhoo or live shrimp drifted back into the slick. From November through March, King Mackerel move over the reef, and slow trolling live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live pilchards targets them.
