About Coffin Memorial Reefballs

Coffin Memorial Reefballs is an artificial reef of placed reef ball structures in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters off the Miami coast. Gray Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and Common Snook peak here from May through July, Mutton Snapper peak from April through June, and Crevalle Jack patrol the structure as well. Bottom fishing with live shrimp, cut bait, or squid works the reef balls for Gray and Mutton Snapper. Chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows draws Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure, and live bait drifting with live pilchards or live mullet targets snook during the summer peak. From November through March, King Mackerel take over the bite, and anglers slow troll live goggle eyes, live blue runners, and live ballyhoo around the reef.
