About Erojacks Ft. Lauderdale Reef

Erojacks Ft. Lauderdale Reef is an artificial reef in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters, part of the Miami-area offshore fishery. King Mackerel move over the structure from November through March, and slow trolling with live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live pilchards works the water above the reef for them. From May through July, Gray Snapper and Yellowtail Snapper hold tight to the structure, with bottom fishing on live shrimp or cut bait for the grays and chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows to raise yellowtail off the bottom. Mutton Snapper peak from April through June and respond to bottom fishing with live ballyhoo, live pilchards, or squid, while Common Snook share the May–July window and take live pilchards and live shrimp on a drift. Crevalle Jack round out the mix, roaming the reef and crashing bait schools that gather around the structure.
