About Eternal Reef

Eternal Reef is an artificial reef in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters off Miami, where placed structure concentrates bait and reef fish. Summer is the busiest stretch: Gray Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and Common Snook peak from May through July, and Mutton Snapper run strongest from April through June. King Mackerel take over the cooler months, peaking from November through March, while Crevalle Jack roam the structure alongside them. Around the reef, bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut bait, and squid works for Gray and Mutton Snapper, and a steady flow of frozen chum blocks and glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. For King Mackerel, slow trolling live goggle eyes, blue runners, or ballyhoo along the reef edges is the dominant approach.
