About Perry Street Rockpile/Segment III Mit Dania Reef
Perry Street Rockpile/Segment III Mit Dania Reef is an artificial reef in Florida Atlantic State Waters of the Southeast Region, off the Miami-area coast. The reef's structure draws Gray Snapper, Common Snook, and Yellowtail Snapper, which all peak from May through July, while Mutton Snapper peak from April through June and King Mackerel arrive in force from November through March. Bottom fishing with cut bait, live pilchards, or squid targets the snapper holding tight to the rubble, and chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up off the bottom. During the winter run, anglers slow troll live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live ballyhoo around the reef for King Mackerel. Crevalle Jack round out the mix, prowling the structure alongside the reef's resident snapper and snook.
