About Site E Reef

Site E Reef is an artificial reef in Florida's Southeast Region state waters off the Miami coast, where placed structure concentrates bottom and pelagic fish. Mutton Snapper peak from April through June, while Gray Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and Common Snook all reach their seasonal high from May through July. King Mackerel take over the cooler months, peaking from November through March, and Crevalle Jack round out the mix around the structure. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut bait, or squid works the reef for both Mutton and Gray Snapper, and chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. In winter, slow trolling live goggle eyes or live blue runners along the reef edges targets King Mackerel.
