About Clam Factory Shoal
Clam Factory Shoal is an outer, exposed sand flat off Naples, Florida, in the Southwest Region of Florida's Gulf state waters, with depths running 5 to 10 feet. Sheepshead lead the calendar from January through March, overlapping with Spotted Seatrout from February through April. Common Snook peak from April through July, and Tarpon run from March through August. Red Drum close out the year with a September and October peak. Across the open sand, live bait fishing with live pilchards, pinfish, and live shrimp accounts for Red Drum and Snook, while Spotted Seatrout respond to drifting with soft plastic paddle tails on jigheads and popping corks with soft plastics.
