About Dickmans Point
Dickmans Point is an outer, exposed drop-off near Naples, Florida, where mixed bottom falls away through depths of 15 to 45 feet in the Southwest Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Common Snook peak from April through July and Tarpon from March through August, and live bait fishing with live pilchards, live pinfish, or live mullet works the edge of the drop for both. Gray Snapper peak from May through July and Sheepshead from January through March, and bottom fishing with live shrimp reaches them over the mixed bottom, while fiddler crabs and sand fleas also draw Sheepshead. Red Drum peak in September and October and take live shrimp or cut mullet fished along the slope. Spanish Mackerel move through in March and April and again from September through November, when casting small spoons and jigs or trolling small trolling spoons covers the open water above the drop.
