About Long Rock
Long Rock is an exposed sand flat off Naples, Florida, sitting in 5 to 10 feet of water along the outer edge of the Southwest Gulf shoreline. Spotted seatrout peak here from February through April, sheepshead from January through March, and common snook from April through July. Tarpon move through from March to August, and red drum hit their peak in September and October. Live bait fishing anchors the action for snook, tarpon, and redfish, with live pilchards, pinfish, and live shrimp working across the open sand. Seatrout respond to drifting with soft plastic paddle tails on jigheads or popping corks with soft plastics. Sheepshead come to bottom fishing with fiddler crabs and sand fleas.
