About Whiskey Creek
Whiskey Creek is a protected inshore corridor near Naples, Florida, where a sand-bottom channel holds 10 to 15 feet of water within the sheltered backcountry of the Southwest Gulf region. Sheepshead lead the winter season from January through March, overlapping with Spotted Seatrout from February through April and the spring Spanish Mackerel run in March and April. Common Snook peak from April through July, Tarpon move through from March into August, and Gray Snapper peak from May through July. Red Drum take over in September and October as Spanish Mackerel return from September through November. Bottom fishing with live shrimp or fiddler crabs works the sandy channel for Sheepshead and Gray Snapper, while live bait fishing with live pilchards, pinfish, or live mullet targets Snook, Red Drum, and Tarpon along the corridor.
