About Interstate 10 Bridge Reef
Interstate 10 Bridge Reef is an artificial reef in the federal Gulf waters off Pensacola, Florida, where the structure holds a mix of reef fish and passing pelagics. Red snapper peak from April through August and gray snapper from May through August, with red grouper also working the structure. Greater amberjack crowd the reef in April and May, gag grouper peak from October through December, and king mackerel cruise the area from April through October. Bottom fishing with cut bait, squid, live pinfish, or cigar minnows is the dominant approach for both snappers and gag grouper. Anglers target amberjack with live hardtails or butterfly jigs worked vertically over the structure, while kings respond to slow trolling with live cigar minnows or live menhaden around the reef's edges.
