About Langley Point
Langley Point is an exposed offshore drop-off off Pensacola, Florida, where rock bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet in the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Red Drum peak here in September and October, Sheepshead in January through March, Gray Snapper from May through August, and Spanish Mackerel across a long April-to-October window, with Common Snook also among the target species. The rocky edges of the drop-off suit bottom fishing, with live shrimp, cut bait, live pinfish, and squid for Gray Snapper and fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and live shrimp for Sheepshead. Chumming with frozen chum or cut bait concentrates snapper over the structure. Spanish Mackerel respond to trolled small spoons, straw rigs, and small diving plugs worked along the exposed outer face of the ledge.
