About Little Sabine Bay
Little Sabine Bay is a protected inner bay near Pensacola, Florida, with a sand bottom that runs from 5 to 25 feet deep. Red drum peak in September and October, when inshore casting with soft plastic jerkbaits, paddletail jigheads, gold spoons, and topwater plugs covers the sand flats effectively. Sheepshead take over from January through March and respond to bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, live shrimp, sand fleas, and oysters. Gray snapper peak from May through August on bottom rigs baited with live shrimp, cut bait, live pinfish, or squid. Spanish mackerel run from April through October and hit small spoons, straw rigs, and small diving plugs on the troll, while common snook round out the bay's target species.
