About Oops Barge Reef
Oops Barge Reef is an artificial reef off Pensacola, Florida, set within the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Bottom fishing over the structure produces Gag Grouper from October through December on live pinfish and live cigar minnows, while Gray Snapper peak from May through August on live shrimp and cut bait. Sheepshead move onto the reef from January through March and take fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and live shrimp worked tight to the structure. Cobia arrive from March through June and fall to sight casting with bucktail jigs and live eels. From April through October, Spanish Mackerel and King Mackerel patrol the water above the reef, with trolling small spoons and straw rigs for Spanish and slow trolling live cigar minnows or live menhaden for kings.
