About Park East Beach
Park East Beach is a stretch of open Gulf shoreline on Santa Rosa Island east of Pensacola Beach, in the Panhandle Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Red drum are the main draw, peaking in September and October, when anglers work the surf by inshore casting with gold spoons, jigheads with paddletails, and soft plastic jerkbaits. Bottom fishing with cut mullet, cut menhaden, or live shrimp also produces red drum along the beach. Spotted seatrout run strongest from March through May and again in October and November and take live shrimp under popping corks, while sheepshead peak from January through March and respond to bottom fishing with sand fleas and fiddler crabs. Common snook round out the species list at this beach.
