About Shoreline Park South Fishing Pier
Shoreline Park South Fishing Pier is a public fishing pier in the Pensacola area of Florida's Panhandle, within the Gulf state waters of the region. Sheepshead lead the winter calendar from January through March, and spotted seatrout peak in March through May and again in October and November. Gray snapper hold around the pier from May through August, Spanish mackerel run from April through October, and red drum peak in September and October, with common snook also among the species anglers target here. The pier's pilings favor bottom fishing for sheepshead with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or live shrimp, and the same approach with live shrimp or cut bait works for gray snapper. Spanish mackerel respond to casting metal jigs, gotcha plugs, and small spoons, while seatrout and red drum take live shrimp under popping corks.
