About Pass-a-Grille Jetty
Pass-a-Grille Jetty is a rock jetty at the southern end of St. Petersburg's Gulf beaches, within the Tampa Bay region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Sheepshead dominate the rocks from January through March, and anglers work bottom-fishing rigs baited with live fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or oysters tight against the structure. Spanish Mackerel move through in two windows, March to May and again in September and October, and anglers cast small spoons and metal jigs to reach them. Common Snook peak from April through June, Gray Snapper hold along the jetty from May through August, and both respond to live shrimp and live pilchards or live scaled sardines fished near the rocks. Red Drum round out the calendar in August and September, when live bait fishing with live shrimp or cut mullet works the base of the jetty.
