About Cypress Point Park

Cypress Point Park is a sandy beach shoreline on the Tampa Bay waterfront in Tampa, Florida, offering wade and shore access to the shallow waters of the Tampa Bay region. Spotted seatrout peak in March–April and again in October–November, when drifting grass flats with soft plastic jerkbaits, paddle tail soft plastics on jigheads, or topwater plugs covers the most water. Red drum peak from August through October and respond to live bait fishing with live shrimp, live pilchards, pinfish, or cut ladyfish. Common snook move through from April to June, and live pilchards or live pinfish free-lined along the beach draw strikes from fish cruising the shallows. Sheepshead take over from January through March, and bottom fishing with fiddler crabs or live shrimp targets them through the cooler months.
