About Pat's Hole
Pat's Hole is a public dock in Tampa, Florida, set within the state waters of the Tampa Bay region. Common Snook peak here from April through June and Gray Snapper from May through August, while Sheepshead take over from January through March and Red Drum run strongest from August through October. Spotted Seatrout show in two windows, March through April and October through November, and Spanish Mackerel follow a similar spring and fall pattern from March through May and September through October. Live bait fishing with live pilchards, live pinfish, or live shrimp works the dock structure for snook and redfish, and bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, or live shrimp targets sheepshead and snapper holding tight to the pilings. When Spanish Mackerel move through, casting silver spoons and small jigs covers the open water off the dock.
