About Pendola Point
Pendola Point is a sand-bottom drop-off on the Tampa shoreline of Tampa Bay, where the bottom falls away from the surrounding shallows. Sheepshead lead the calendar from January through March, Spanish Mackerel run March through May and again in September and October, and Gray Snapper peak from May through August. Spotted Seatrout move through in March–April and October–November, Common Snook peak April through June, and Red Drum fill the late-summer window from August through October. Along the edge of the drop, bottom fishing with live shrimp or fiddler crabs targets Sheepshead, while live pinfish and live scaled sardines on the bottom draw Gray Snapper. When Spanish Mackerel push bait over the break, anglers cast silver spoons and gotcha plugs to the feeding fish.
