About Upper Tampa Bay Park Pier

Upper Tampa Bay Park Pier is a fishing pier on the northern reaches of Tampa Bay, near Tampa, Florida. Spotted Seatrout peak here in March through April and again in October through November, while Common Snook peak from April to June and Red Drum peak from August through October. Sheepshead take over from January to March, Spanish Mackerel run in March through May and again in September and October, and Gray Snapper peak from May to August. Live bait fishing with live shrimp, live pilchards, or pinfish works for snook and redfish around the pier, and popping cork rigs with live shrimp or soft plastic shrimp target trout. Through the cooler months, bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, live shrimp, or sand fleas draws Sheepshead, and casting silver spoons or small jigs intercepts passing Spanish Mackerel.
