Walrus Rocks is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Brookings, Oregon, where the bottom falls from around 330 feet into depths of roughly 1,300 feet. The steep rock structure holds Pacific Halibut through its April–August peak and a strong Rockfish (Aggregate) window from April to September, while Lingcod fishing runs strongest January through March. Chinook and Coho Salmon move across the area from May into October, and Black Rockfish concentrate along the structure from May to August. Anglers work the deeper edges with drift fishing using herring, squid, or salmon bellies for halibut, and jig metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits over the rock for lingcod and rockfish. Salmon are targeted with trolling using cut-plug herring, whole herring, spoons, and flashers with hoochies through the exposed water above the drop.
