Jarvis Upper Range A Rear Light marks an outer, exposed rocky pinnacle off Charleston, Oregon, where structure rises through water from the surface down to about 25 feet. The shallow rock draws a strong summer showing of Chinook and Coho Salmon, both peaking June through September, alongside Black Rockfish over the same stretch and Blue Rockfish from April into August. Lingcod hold here through the colder months, peaking January to March and again in December, while Cabezon come on from November into January. Trolling cut-plug or whole herring, trolling spoons, and hoochies works the salmon over the pinnacle, with mooching cut-plug herring as a supporting approach. For the rockfish, lingcod, and cabezon that use the rock itself, jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits covers the bottom, backed by bait fishing with squid, herring, or cut bait.
