STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

The Hump at 43.89673, -124.17645 is an outer, exposed rocky pinnacle off Winchester Bay, Oregon, rising through water 70 to 80 feet deep. The structure holds Pacific halibut, which peak from March through August, alongside lingcod that peak from January through March and a mix of rockfish including yelloweye, canary, bocaccio, and quillback. Halibut respond to drift fishing with herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus over the rock, while lingcod come to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the pinnacle. Chinook salmon move through from June to September and coho from June to October, both taken by trolling cut-plug or whole herring and flashers with hoochies. The rock bottom and exposed setting concentrate fish on the high points, where jigging and drift presentations reach the depth range that defines this spot.
