Crab Rock is a rocky drop-off in the inner-protected waters off Garibaldi, Oregon, where depths run from 10 to 40 feet. The structure holds Black Rockfish through their April-to-August peak and Cabezon from April to June, while Lingcod concentrate here in February and March. Anglers work the rock with jigging using metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits, dropping through the water column to reach fish holding tight to the bottom. For Lingcod, live bait such as greenling or sardines and drift fishing with whole herring or squid both produce along the drop-off's edges. Dungeness Crab and passing Chinook and Coho Salmon add to the mix as the salmon runs build from June through the fall.
