About Maxwell Point Hump

This rocky pinnacle rises from the outer, exposed waters roughly 2.4 km southwest of Three Arch Rocks off Garibaldi, Oregon, holding structure between 55 and 100 feet deep. The rock draws Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, with both taken by trolling herring, spoons, and flashers over and around the high ground. The same pinnacle supports Lingcod, which bite best in February and March and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and lead-head jigs with grub tails worked tight to the rock. Pacific Halibut move through from March into August, caught by drift fishing herring, squid, or octopus across the deeper edges. Copper, Yelloweye, Quillback, and Canary Rockfish round out the resident fish holding on this exposed structure.
