STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Cape Lookout sits off Garibaldi, Oregon, as an outer-exposed rocky drop-off where the bottom falls from roughly 40 to 180 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through September and Coho Salmon run June through October, both drawing trollers working spoons, flashers, and herring across the structure. Bottom fishing sharpens through spring, with Lingcod peaking February and March, Pacific Halibut March through August, and Black Rockfish April through August. The rocky drop-off holds Lingcod and rockfish well, where metal jigs, swimbaits, and lead-head jigs cover the deeper edges while drift fishing with herring, squid, or octopus targets Halibut over the same ground. Blue, Canary, and Yellowtail Rockfish, along with Pacific Mackerel and Pacific Cod, fill out the mix along this exposed rock.
