Distances are in a straight line, not by water.

Wells Cove Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from 110 to 165 feet of water in the outer, exposed grounds off Garibaldi, Oregon. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from February through March, alongside black rockfish that concentrate from April through August and a mix of blue, yellowtail, canary, and copper rockfish. Chinook salmon move through from June to September, with coho following from June into October. Anglers work the rock with metal jigs, swimbaits, and lead-head jigs with grub tails for lingcod, while jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs or mooching soft plastic grubs takes the black rockfish along the pinnacle's edges. Salmon come to trolling herring, anchovies, spoons, and flashers over the deeper water surrounding the high spot.
