About Seal Rock Hump

The Seal Rock Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from an outer, exposed stretch of ocean off Garibaldi, Oregon, with depths running from 55 to 100 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon peaking June through September and Coho Salmon peaking June through October, while Black Rockfish concentrate April through August and Lingcod turn on February through March. Trolling whole herring, anchovies, spoons, and flashers works the water column for both salmon, and anglers also mooch cut-plug herring over the same ground. Down on the rock, jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits targets Lingcod, Black Rockfish, and Cabezon, the last of which peaks April through June. Pacific Halibut moves through from March to August and takes drifted herring, salmon belly, octopus, and squid along the pinnacle's edges.
