STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Inner Protected

Sow and Pigs is an inner-protected rocky drop-off off Garibaldi, Oregon, where the bottom falls from about 330 feet to 1,310 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from June through October, with both taken by trolling herring, spoons, flashers, and hoochies, or by mooching cut-plug and whole herring over the edge. Pacific Halibut work the deeper drift zones from March through August, targeted by drifting herring, salmon belly, octopus, and squid, or with leadhead and metal jigs. The rocky face concentrates bottomfish year-round, including Lingcod peaking February through March, Black Rockfish April through August, and Cabezon April through June, all responsive to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits. The steep transition from rock to deep water lets anglers cover salmon in the upper column and structure-oriented species along the same break.
